The past decade has witnessed rapid evolution and change in many diagnostic
spheres but has most particularly consolidated the role of the clinical
laboratory as a major part of medical discipline. Improved laboratory
methods and technological advances have extended the range of diagnostic
tests and improved turnaround times have allowed medical practitioners
to improve the quality of patient care.
